The 1.5-inch measurement is from the highest point to the bottom point. These labels can be removed from most surfaces but they do have a strong adhesive backing. They are also apparel-safe, meaning they will not harm clothing. There are 500 hearts on a roll. We do add about 5 extra to make up for the tape holding the roll together.
